Virtual psychiatric services are delivered under the same clinical, privacy, and prescribing standards as in-person care. Requirements are confirmed with each facility before the first clinic.
- All virtual visits are conducted over an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform — consumer video tools are never used.
- Care is delivered by an Indiana-licensed psychiatric provider, with patients located in a facility within the state at the time of service.
- Informed consent for telehealth is obtained and documented before treatment begins.
- Prescribing follows Indiana and federal requirements, including DEA rules for controlled substances and any in-person evaluation requirements.
- Documentation is completed in the facility's record system and meets correctional and payer standards.
- A business associate agreement is executed with each facility, and privacy, room-setup, and staff-presence expectations are agreed in advance.
